An American Rebel is an exciting feature-length documentary about Steve McQueen. A long-time friend and colleague Richard Martin has crafted this no-holds-barred homage to McQueen as a labor of love. Based on author Marshall Terrill’s “Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel”, and Mr. Martin’s remembrance.
The film reveals the entire arc of McQueen’s high- octane life, loves and losses. Featuring a host of McQueen clips and high – profile Hollywood icons, it ranges from his brutal early years, through the long climb to the top as Hollywood’s leading man’s man/action hero/heart throb, to his moving final years’ journey toward personal redemption beyond “all thing Hollywood.
It is co-narrated by actress Jacqueline Bisset and Richard Martin.
