Walking On Water invites you to come along and see the world through the eyes of two kids as they embark on the trip of a lifetime. Luke and Tyler are given the opportunity that most young surfers only dream about.
When Bryan Jennings (Founder/Director of Walking On Water) was fourteen years old he was taken on his first surf trip by a local professional surfer. This trip had a lasting effect on his life. In "Walking On Water" Bryan returns the favor as he takes Tyler and Luke literally around the world in hopes that they too will forever be changed. Along the way they meet up with three-time world champion surfer Tom Curren, teen shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton, top professional surfers C.J. and Damien Hobgood, and many others. Join Luke and Tyler as they travel to Hawaii, Peru, Australia, Indonesia, South Africa, and France. In this beautiful and inspiring film, the world becomes their classroom.
The Whiting Family invites you…
A free community event is coming to the Colonial Theatre Friday, May 30th!
Here's our story. We have a passion for two things; missions and surfing. Seems like an odd combination, but bear with me. Every year we take our family on an outreach trip to an underprivileged country (where there also happen to be great waves). Last year we went to El Salvador where we enjoyed beautiful beaches and worked in an orphanage there. This year we were planning to go to Peru. After months of trying to make the trip happen with no success, we began to think it wasn't meant to be. This is when we found out about "Walking on Water" - an organization who shares our combined passions and shares it with others through film. They've made several movies, but the premiere of "Walking on Water" is touring the world as we speak. We felt it was no coincidence that our Peru trip didn't work out, but we did find out about the opportunity to sponsor a premiere of the film in our area. So here you have it - our Peru trip has turned into the Philadelphia (although it's really in Phoenixville) Premiere of Walking on Water. The film is documentary style with clips of great surfing set to great music. It's a story about finding faith on the journey of a lifetime. In addition to the film, 3X World Champion surfer, Tom Curren (a legend in surfing) is coming!!! Better yet, he sings, is a great talent, and he's bringing his band. They will perform live before the showing of the film. Admission is FREE! Sound great? That's because it really is! You don't need to have any connection to surfing to enjoy this evening. Grab a bite in downtown Phoenixville and experience it's revival. Then get to the Colonial early to get a great seat. The show begins at 7:30. Don't be late - we expect to fill every seat! Aren't sold yet? "The Whiting Brothers" will be opening for Tom Curren! Seriously, YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!
