Ticketing FAQ
On Oct 10 we launched our new ticketing system. We now accept credit cards and you can buy tickets to all of our films and events online (with a few exceptions — see Point Concerts below).
What’s the best way to buy tickets?
- Online is the fastest, least expensive way to buy tickets.
When do tickets become available online?
- We add programs to the ticketing page every week. If you don’t see the show you’re looking for check back in a couple of days.
- Generally, tickets to our weekly feature films will be available for online purchase on the Monday before the film starts.
What kinds of ticketing fees do you charge?
- A $2 per ticket Restoration Fee
- A $1 per ticket Service Fee (max. $4 per order)
How are the fees applied?
- There are NO FEES on film tickets purchased anytime online, or at the box office within 2 hours of showtime.
- If you come to the box office to buy film tickets in advance (more than two hours before showtime) then the $1 per ticket Service Fee will apply (the maximum service fee is $4 per order).
- Tickets for live events are subject to the $2 per ticket Restoration Fee.
- The $1 per ticket Service Fee only applies to tickets purchased over the phone, at our box office in advance, and to Point concert tickets purchased online.
- Again, film tickets purchased online or within two hours of showtime at the box office are not subject to any fees.
- Remember, online is the fastest, least expensive way to buy tickets.
What is the Restoration Fee?
The restoration fee will be dedicated to funding those big ticket items that historic theatres constantly have to address (renovations, upgrades, improving accessability, replacing equipment, etc). This is important as we continue to improve our theatre and bring more diverse programming to our community.
How do I get my tickets if I buy online?
- You will be prompted to print out your tickets as a pdf at the end of the purchase process.
- You will also receive an email with a link to reprint your tickets.
- Add no-reply@ticketturtle.com to your address book so the email does not go into your junk mail folder.
- Please have your ticket with you when you come to the theatre.
- With your ticket, you can bypass the box office window and go right up to the volunteer tearing tickets.
- If you buy tickets online using a mobile device and do not have access to a printer, then make note of the Admission Code at the bottom of the pdf that is generated when you click on the link to print your tickets. When you get to the theatre, check in at the box office window and have your Admission Code available.
What types of payment do you accept?
Cash, check (2 weeks or more before the show), VISA, Mastercard, and Discover are accepted. Checks require a preprinted name and address and a valid driver’s license. A $25.00 fee applies to all returned checks. Please note: If you are paying with a check, it is required that you write your phone number and drivers license number on the check. If we receive your check without the phone number and drivers license number, we will return your check to you so you can add the information and send it back. We do not hold seats. All mail orders are filled on a first come, first serve basis with whatever is best available in the price range you’ve selected. Seats cannot be reserved without payment.
What’s your refund policy?
All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. Film tickets may be exchanged for another regular film screening at the box office.
Point Entertainment Concerts
We are phasing these concerts into our new system.
For January – April, 2010 concerts:
Tickets can be purchased at the box office with cash, check or credit card. Applicable fees are:
- $2 per ticket Restoration Fee
- $1 per ticket Service Fee (max. $4 per order)
Online ticket sales are available only through www.ticketweb.com. You will not be able to buy tickets to these shows using the Colonial’s ticketing page. Ticketweb’s fees are $4.70 per ticket, so if you are buying more than one ticket, it is still cheaper to buy them at the Colonial.
After May 1 all sales for Point concert tickets will go through the Colonial’s box office and online system. The Al Stewart concert on May 14, 2010 is the first show to fall into this category.
Point Ticket Prices
Tickets to Point Entertainment concerts are generally sold at three different price levels. The different tiers from highest to lowest price are Gold Circle, Orchestra, and Balcony. The Gold Circle seats are in the first 10 rows of the theatre; the Orchestra seats are in rows 11 thru 20 of the main floor; and the Balcony seats are, well, in the balcony. All tickets are general admission, meaning that you purchase a seat in a particular section, but not a particular seat.
Reserved seating will be available in mid -2010. The Al Stewart concert on May 14, 2010 is our first all reserved seating show.
Sold Out Shows & Rush Line Tickets
When a show has sold out, rush tickets (that is, any remaining seats in the upper balcony) go on sale when all of our ticket holders are in and seated. Patrons are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes in advance of the performance to queue up. After the show has started and all of our ticket holders are in and seated, we will evaluate how many seats are open in the upper balcony and those seats will be made available on a first come, first served basis. Please note that leg room is limited in these seats. Rush tickets are priced the same as balcony tickets for that show. We accept cash only at the box office for rush tickets.
