We hope you will join us at our 8th Annual Members’ Oscar Party! We’ve made some changes to this year’s party so please read on.

New this year:

The party will start at 7pm instead of 6pm.

The first 150 members to RSVP are invited to join us at 7pm.**

After the first 150 RSVPs members are invited to join us at 8:30pm, just in time for the Oscar broadcast.**

Your RSVP is required by February 20. Email Kirsten and please put “Oscar Party” in the subject line.

Our costume contest will be limited to the Film Costume category, although all are still encouraged to come dressed in formal wear or pajamas as well.

About the party:

The fabulous “Oscar and the Colonials” will be our swingin’ stage band!

We’ll provide light food and desserts, but hope that you will bring a bottle of wine, champagne or beer to donate to our bar (no hard liquor please).

Purchase a Calhoun Cupcake for $10 and you may find a diamond inside courtesy of our party sponsor, Calhoun Jewelers. A total of 30 gems, including one diamond, will be hidden inside 30 of our 150 cupcakes for sale!

Cathy Calhoun will have plenty of exquisite jewelry on display for all to admire.

Come dressed in formal wear, pajamas, or film related costume.

We’ll give out our own Oscar for Best Film Costume. Your costume can be related to any film, not necessarily this year’s Oscar nominated films.

Get your picture taken on the red carpet by our own paparazzi.

Answer movie trivia questions during the commercial breaks and win your own Oscar statue and prize.

Our annual Oscar pool will be available in our lobby beginning Jan 31 (the nominations will be announced on Jan 24). Winners for the pool will be contacted on Tuesday, Feb 28 and announced in that week’s email newsletter.

Raffle tickets to win our DVD gift basket of Oscar -winning and classic films will be available to purchase at the party.

Members at the $100 (Producer) Level may bring one non-member guest; and those at the $500 (Mogul) Level and above may bring two non-member guests.

The Oscar Party is for Colonial members as a thank you for their support over the years. Memberships start at just $40 per year and include benefits such as $5 tickets (versus $8) to all films, not to mention an invitation to the Oscar Party complete with catered light food and a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other Colonial members. We just ask that members who would like to drink beer or wine at the party to please donate a bottle to our bar.

**Due to the small size of our lobby, we have found that we cannot comfortably accommodate more 150 people during the cocktail hour portion of the party. Since the popularity of the Oscar party has grown over the years, we now find ourselves in the position of having to divide our guest arrivals into two groups. The first 150 members to RSVP are invited to join us at 7pm and all subsequent members who RSVP are invited to join us at 8:30pm in time for the Oscar broadcast. Our bar will be open all night (hence, 8:30 guests should still bring a bottle to donate). And, remember, we recently purchased the building next door to us so in a few short years, we’ll have the expanded lobby space we’ve all been dreaming of!

Not a member yet? Show us some love this February and help us reach our goal of signing up 100 new members by Oscar Night, February 26! You can learn about membership benefits and become a member online, or simply mail us a check to 227 Bridge Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.

We hope to see you on February 26!
