Our new feature film this week is Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview. It is fascinating, previously unreleased footage of a conversation with Steve Jobs as he was running NeXT, the company he had founded after leaving Apple. Please note that the first screening of the film is Saturday at 5:00 and there will be NO screening Monday.

Saturday at 12:30PM, Edge of Cinema presents the premiere of the independent film Running Away Into You, a slice of life drama based on a group of friends who together face some pressing social issues. There will be a Q&A afterwards with director Jeremy Schmidt. Admission is free and the suggested movie rating is “R.” Come support local cinema!

We continue our classic film theme, “teachers,” with The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Watch Dame Maggie Smith in a tour-de-force performance as the title character, a role for which she won the Best Actress Oscar.

Join us this Tuesday at 7PM in the 3rd floor screening room for this year’s second TEDxPhoenixvilleSalon. This month’s salon theme is “BELIEVING in your backyard.” Our live speaker will be Charles Rice, Chaplain at Ursinus College. Next Saturday, May 19 at 7PM, the Theatre Organ Society of the Delaware Valley presents The General, with live accompaniment by Jim Riggs, nationally renowned theatre organist! We are so lucky to have this grand theatre pipe organ right here in our community at the Colonial! Final voicing is going on this week – this should be a real treat! Fans of The Artist will love this silent film starring the wonderful Buster Keaton, and Marion Mack as Annabelle Lee, his love interest. Tickets are $5.00-$13.50 and are available online, at the box office and over the phone.

Our new feature film this week is Coriolanus . It stars Ralph Fiennes in the lead role as a great soldier who allies with his enemy (played by Gerard Butler) to get revenge on his city. Tonight is your last chance to see We Need to Talk About Kevin at 7:30.

Our classic film theme for May is teachers. We begin this week with Goodbye Mr. Chips. Our documentary at 4:30 on Sunday is Nostalgia for the Light, which juxtaposes astronomers searching the sky with citizens looking for the remains of their loved ones in the Chilean desert.

We are happy to annouce that we’ve got a new concert on the schedule: Point Entertainment presents Jorma Kaukonen with very special guest Loudon Wainwright III, Sep 14 at 8PM. Our documentary series continues its food theme this Sunday with The Garden at 4:30. It tells the story of a lush,14-acre community garden rising from the ashes of the L.A. riots, who’s future is now threatened by bulldozers.

Sunday at 2PM our classic is 12 Angry Men. It stars Henry Fonda as the single dissenting juror in a murder trial.

Our first TEDx event of 2012 is a Salon Tuesday night, 7PM in the 3rd Floor Screening Room. Our live speaker will be landscape designer Donald Pell.

On Wednesday Apr 18 at 7:30, the Phoenixville Hospital Healthy Woman Program presents The Mighty Macs. It is the story of Cathy Rush, head basketball coach at Immaculata College, who took the women’s basketball team to their first national championship.

Tomorrow is the first Friday in April, so that means another First Friday Fright Night! This month our feature is From Dusk till Dawn. Stay late and watch Clooney, Tarantino, Keitel and Juliette Lewis in this vampire western (also look for appearances by Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin, Tom Savini an Kelly Preston).

Our kids’ film Saturday at 2PM is Stand By Me. It stars Jerry O’Connell, Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman, and River Phoenix in a story about a writer who recounts a boyhood journey to find the body of a missing boy. We are recommending the film for kids ages 12 and up. You can also read the Common Sense Media Review for help deciding if this film is appropriate for your child.

Our new feature film this week is A Separation. Winner of this year’s Oscar for Best Foreign Film, it is the story of a married couple who are faced with a difficult decision – to improve the life of their child by moving to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer’s disease.

Following Friday night’s feature, our cult classic will be Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Watch Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and George Carlin as two seemingly dumb teens struggle to prepare a historical presentation with the help of a time machine. Brace yourself amigos for a most triumphant movie!

Our kids’ film St. Patrick’s Day at 2PM is Darby O’Gill and the Little People. We end our Classic series tribute to Michael Caine Sunday at 2PM with The Man Who Would Be King. Directed by John Huston, Caine and Sean Connery get into mischief and adventure in this fun film.

Our final documentary this month (Sunday at 4:30PM) is The Art of the Steal. The film examines the struggle for control of Dr. Albert C. Barnes’ 25 billion dollar collection of modern and post-impressionist art.
